Varun Chakravarthy 5 Wickets:  In the Champions Trophy 2025, Team India defeated New Zealand by 44 runs in the last match of Group-A. Actually, this is his second ODI match. Before him, this record was in the name of Stuart Binny, who did this feat in his third ODI match. Binny had dismissed 6 batsmen for 4 runs in the match against Bangladesh in 2014.

Varun Chakravarthy has become the third bowler from India to take a 5-wicket haul in the Champions Trophy. Before him, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Shami have achieved this feat. Jadeja took 5 wickets against West Indies in the 2013 Champions Trophy. Shami, on the other hand, took a five-wicket haul against Bangladesh in India’s first match of the current season.
